Terms of use
Last updated: 18 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and [legal entity — not yet configured] ([registered address — not yet configured]), operator of DateForReal.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18, legally able to contract, not barred from using the service, and not convicted of a serious violent or sexual offence. One account per person.
2. The service
DateForReal proposes members to each other based on a published compatibility score and only at 50% or above. We do not guarantee that you will meet anyone, nor the identity, intentions or conduct of members. We do not run background checks.
3. Pricing and membership
Registration and use are free until your first real date. A first real date occurs when a date planned in the app is confirmed as “we met” by both participants. After that, continued matching requires a membership of $9 per month, billed monthly in advance through Stripe, renewing until cancelled. You can cancel at any time in Settings; access continues to the end of the paid period. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice, never retroactively. Payments are not active yet; until we announce activation nobody is charged and the free service continues.
4. Refunds
If no match (50%+ compatibility) is sent to you in a billing month, that month's payment is refunded. See the refund policy. EU/UK consumers keep their statutory rights, including the right to withdraw within 14 days where applicable; by starting the service immediately you acknowledge the service begins right away.
5. Your conduct
Follow the community guidelines. Do not use the service to scam, harass, spam, or for any illegal purpose, and do not scrape or reverse engineer it.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of your content and grant us a limited licence to host and show it to other members to operate the service. You promise you have the right to post it.
7. Moderation and termination
We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms. You may delete your account any time. Access to the free period may end if the first-real-date rule is abused (e.g. false check-ins).
8. Liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for what members do or for indirect losses; nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g. death, personal injury, fraud). You are responsible for your own safety when meeting people — read the safety tips.
9. Law and disputes
Governing law: [governing law / jurisdiction — not yet configured]. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence still apply.
10. Contact
