Every profile is video-first: a mandatory 10–90 s intro video recorded with guided prompts, no photo galleries. Videos are moderated before anyone sees them. Video calls are peer-to-peer and never recorded.

Is DateForReal really free?
Yes. Downloading, signing up, answering the questionnaire and receiving matches is free — all the way until your first real date. Only after you have actually met someone from DateForReal does the $9/month membership begin.
What counts as a "first real date"?
You and your match agree on a place and time inside the app. After the date, we ask both of you “Did you meet?”. When both of you say yes, that is your first real date.
What if I don't get any matches in a month?
Then you get that month's $9 back. Every month you pay, we must send you at least one match with 50% or higher compatibility, or the month is refunded automatically. See the refund policy.
How is compatibility calculated?
From about 16 questions plus your interests: what you want, values, lifestyle, dating style and availability. Every question has a published weight and you can see the breakdown behind each score. We never propose anyone below 50%.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, in Settings → Membership. You keep access until the end of the month you paid for.
Is it safe?
Adults only, mutual-interest chat only, one-tap block and report, every member is ID-verified by a person before being matched, human moderation. We are honest about limits: ID review is manual (no automated checks) and not infallible. See safety tips.
What do you do with my data?
We use it to run matching, nothing else. No ads, no selling data, no tracking cookies. You can export or delete everything in Settings. See the privacy policy.
